Like so many of our songs, this is about questions I ask myself. I learn by doing, and this song describes my attitude to continuous learning. I must accept that when I try something new, I will initially suck at it, but this should not stop or even deter us from trying something new. This is how the whole song writing and music production process started. Next on my continuous learning journey is making illustrated books and videos for each song. Ironically never starting is the only form of failure there is. Quitting is not an option; persistence is the key. Persistence is about constantly adapting and evolving our approach. It's the ability to pivot, to learn from failures, and to grow stronger with each setback. Think of persistence as a delicious recipe for success. Nobody can go back and change the past and start a new beginning, but you can make the future anything you want it to be, by starting today and making a new ending. When learning something new, you must be willing to fail at first as it will always appear to get worse before it gets better. It's because the learning curve is steepest initially. So, you appear to suck at first as you get most frustrated in the beginning, so it seems like you are getting worse initially. It's a risk you take without any guarantees of success. Are you brave enough to suck at something new? “Am I Brave Enough” is about the importance of taking risks, trying new things, pushing along and persisting on, learning from failure and becoming strong. Are you brave enough to suck at something new. The song is about challenging oneself to break through, and how determination will help as a muse. It encourages us to leave our comfort zone and take chances, because anyone can make a new ending.
