I Couldnt Fall Out Of Love If I Tried

I Couldnt Fall Out Of Love If I Tried

LYRICS

Wish I knew the words, to make love untrue,

A magic phrase, to unbind me from you.

Harpoon my heart, let it start anew,

Wash away any trace, of the you I knew.

Wish I could wash away all traces of you,

Is there magic, a spell to break through?

But in the crowd, I see your face,

A haunting echo, I can’t erase.

I couldn’t fall out of love if I tried,

Your echo haunts me, from inside.

But I really want to, for my own pride,

Find a way to let go, widen this divide.

In every song, I search for a clue,

A puzzle piece, to fill the void of you.

But without your beat, the world’s askew,

A missing rhythm, in everything I do.

In this crowd, I’m lost, feeling so blue,

Everything’s a reminder of what we went through.

I’m here on the floor, wishing I knew,

How to fall out of love, how to start anew.

I couldn’t fall out of love if I tried,

Your echo haunts me, from inside.

But I really want to, for my own pride,

Find a way to let go, widen this divide.

Maybe there’s no magic, no key to find,

Just time, the healer, to unwind.

But till then, I’ll seek in every rhyme,

A way to leave your memories behind.

In the club’s haze, I seek a magic phrase,

Something to clear you from my mind’s maze.

A cure to unlove, set my soul ablaze,

But without you, my world’s just a daze.

I couldn’t fall out of love if I tried,

Your echo haunts me, from inside.

But I really want to, for my own pride,

Find a way to let go, widen this divide.

So I’ll dance till dawn, under the moonlight,

Hoping to find my way, with new insight.

To fall out of love, to finally feel right,

With or without you, I’ll win this fight.

INSPIRATION

This is our first attempt at a Country song so the main theme of this song is I wish I knew how to fall out of love with you. Is there a potion, a spell, a cure, a magic phrase or a key to unlock your hold on me and undo and unlove so I can harpoon my heart and breakthrough start anew, and wash away all traces of you, and find a puzzle piece to fill this empty space. But without you in the mix it just ain’t right as I keep seeing your face, a haunting echo and memories I can’t erase. I couldn’t fall out of love with you if I tried, but I really want to just to mend my pride.
